Clean, unfussy, and professional corporate branding.
“No I don’t have a logo – I don’t need one.”
I wish I had a pound for every time a new business owner told me that. Logos are crucial to every business and the corporate brand should be one of the first things a new business owner should consider early in the planning stages.
And there’s loads of reasons why. Logos will make your business look more credible to potential clients. They convey stability, and therefore clients will consider you more reputable. They make your business memorable, so they’re more likely to give you repeat business. A simple, well designed logo can describe your business, or at least give a hint to your business’ values in a glance.
Logos come in many forms. Sometimes just the company name in a simple logotype is the most appropriate (think Coca-Cola or Facebook), sometimes just an emblem – the Nike swoosh is iconic, as is the Apple logo. It might take a year or two though for your business to reach that level so you might want a combination of company name and a small supporting device. Great examples would be Amazon (with the arrow to represent A to Z) and Twitter.
Regardless of the type of logo though, the best ones are the most simple. The ones that portray the company in the cleanest simplest way possible.
We’ve got years of experience in designing beautifully clean, wonderfully simple logos – take a look at the Our Work section for a flavour of some of our previous branding exercises for all types of businesses.
Have I convinced you?
Bespoke, brand consistent and accessible online solutions.
Think about it. Why, exactly, do you want a website? Is it because everyone else and their dog has one, or do you want a serious marketing tool that will really do the business for you?
As your shop window to the world, your website has to look great. We are primarily a graphic design agency and the look and feel of the website is of prime importance. Brand-consistent, user-friendly and accessible on all devices – desktops, laptops, tablets and mobiles, all sites are fully tested to ensure the best possible user experience, regardless of their choice of hardware. But let’s be honest, you can have the best-looking website ever built, but if the content is terrible, you’ve scored a massive own goal. Luckily, we can sort that too – compelling copy, striking photography and beautiful graphics – we’ll take the lead and get your website up-to-scratch.
And because we don’t believe in simply handing over the finished design and leaving you to it, we also offer a comprehensive web hosting service. Depending on what you need to get your site up and running the way you want, this can include registering your domain names, creating email accounts and even installing Google Analytics so you can keep track on who is visiting your site and what areas they are most interested in. Most of our clients also benefit from incorporating a Content Management System such as WordPress, allowing them to update the information on their website whenever they wish.
Brand-consistent graphics solutions for web or print.
It has been said that a picture paints a thousand words – but before you get into all the proof-in-the-pudding visual stuff, here are a few words about our graphic design offering to be getting on with.
A large percentage of our graphic design work is for smaller businesses, with a particular speciality in helping start-ups with all the basic marketing essentials they need to get off the ground.
And we keep it simple. We don’t do clever-clever with one eye on the awards cabinet. Everything we do for our clients is about them, not about us. That’s why clients of all sizes from every sector come to Mayfin for our hallmark style of clean, unfussy, professional graphic design work covering everything and anything from logo design, branding, business cards and stationery to leaflets, flyers, press ads, posters, exhibition panels, magazine layouts, corporate brochures, annual reports … and, somewhat of a Mayfin speciality, album covers for a growing number of musician and record company clients.
Having said all that, we’d rather our work did the talking. So why not head over to the what we’ve done section for a look at some of our previous projects.
Beautiful look and feel – even more beautiful price.
Business cards, stationery, leaflets, flyers, posters, booklets, exhibition stands… the list goes on.
We think it’s better to let us take care of your printing. So often we’ll spend hours perfecting the most beautiful piece of print, only for our customer to go to the nearest copy shop and get our works of art churned out en masse, on the cheapest value paper or card.
That’s not how we work.
Through years of experience in the print world we know what will look and feel superb. Whether it’s printing onto Silk, Uncoated or Conqueror. Adding a gloss or matt lamination finish, or maybe a spot UV coating. We know what works.
So if you don’t know your crop marks from your bleed, or your CMYK from your RGB, let us take care of your print requirements – and we’ll likely beat the prices of all the high street printers too.
Web Development & E-Commerce
Reliable, cost-effective, scalable, web development and e-commerce applications.
The bottom line to our web development and e-commerce offering is that we can build anything on a bespoke basis. Any application. Any scale. Anything.
Whatever it takes, whatever you need, everything we do is driven by the unique needs of each individual client. Because, despite what others might tell you, one size doesn’t fit all. So we would never try to sell you a full Content Management System covering your entire website if there was only one page on the site that you would ever need to keep regularly updated.
Similarly, we design and build all kinds of online shopping sites for all kinds of clients, large and small. And what we’ve done for real biggies like Amazon we can equally do for you – including setting up PayPal (as most of our e-commerce clients prefer) or whatever other payment method makes the most sense for your business and your customers.
We’ve also notched up quite a reputation as innovators – and there can be no better example than the online shopping sites we’ve built for many of our musician clients. We believe these to be the first of their kind to combine the conventional ordering of CDs, DVDs and other merchandise with the facility to actually download tracks in digital format direct from the site without having to go to third party sites such as iTunes.
